Use a hard case or a double-walled cardboard box with ample padding (bubble wrap, foam or blankets). For guitars and violins, loosen strings slightly and secure necks; remove or pad protruding hardware. Keyboards should be boxed in original cartons if possible, with supports to prevent movement.

Labelling and Documentation for Musical Instruments
After booking with Transdirect, you will be supplied with shipping labels. Each item has a unique label. Please ensure the labels are fixed to the item securely. Failure to affix the supplied labels correctly could result in a Futile collection fee being charged. For International shipments, ensure all appropriate Customs documentation has been supplied.

Restrictions and Considerations
Very large items (e.g. full grand pianos) will need specialised freight or piano movers so we are unable to send such items. Items over 25kg should be palletised and booked using the dimensions and weight including the pallet / crate or skid. Batteries (e-bass/e-drums with lithium batteries) and hazardous materials are restricted – check our dangerous goods shipping policy before booking. High-value instruments can be shipped, however we recommend you organise appropriate insurance cover.
